I am Visiting Assistant Professor of Politics at Bates College. I offer courses in Politics, Latin American Studies, and Gender and Sexuality Studies. I also advise senior thesis projects in these areas.

I completed my doctoral work in comparative politics and public policy in the Department of Political Science at the University of Kansas. I research LGBT social movements, state institutions, and public policy in Brazil and Latin America.

I am a former Fulbright-Hays Doctoral Dissertation Research Abroad (DDRA) Fellow, National Security Education Program (NSEP) David L. Boren Scholar, and Doctoral Research Fellow at the KU Institute for Policy and Social Research (IPSR).
